In July 2005, she participated in the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, an effort to help prevent teenagers from smoking cigarettes and to help current smokers quit.Lohan, who began smoking in 2004, was also trying to break the habit as of early 2006. wrote in December 2006 that Lohan had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Los Angeles for a year, but she told the magazine that she hadn't gone public because "it's no one's business. That's why it's anonymous!"
